Sometimes, a degree requires that courses that are especially expensive or difficult to source. This list of obscure credits may duplicate some of the courses listed on the sources of credit page but an effort has been made to categorize these institutions based on subject.

CSU Global has indicated that its assessments, unlike UExcels and TECEPs, are only available to currently-enrolled students. However, enrollment as a non-degree-seeking student is possible. There is a 15 credit limit for non-degree seeking students.
Some classes are available as self-paced options while others are term-based and only available at specific times of the year. Check the list of courses to find out when a course is available. 2 5-credit UL English courses available.

Offers online classes in: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu. Some languages only have beginner classes online.
Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish. Course availability depends upon language. For instance, Japanese only has first-year language courses while German has first through fourth year.
Huge amount of online (not self-paced) options available. May provide sufficient courses for Foreign Language degree, especially in Spanish. Read the FAQ page for full information on how to find & register for classes.
Washington residents pay a bit less, international students pay more. A few interesting online and/or self-paced options available but not recommended due to price and difficulty navigating the registration site.
