Courses to Fulfill B.S. in Business Administration Requirements

Business Statistics

Note: This is the only math course needed for the B.S. in Business Administration. Although some people don't like math, statistics is a very useful and powerful to have for life and for any career and if you need to take Quantitative Analysis in an MBA program. It's a descriptive math, and doesn't require any advanced algebra, calculus, trig, or anything. The ALEKS course is nice because it's self-paced, practically free, and non-proctored, but if you want to supplement your learning, check out Udacity's free Intro. to Statistics course.

3 ALEKS Business Statistics 3
Business Law 3 Saylor Business Law & Ethics (only $25)

CLEP Introductory Business Law

3
Accounting
Financial Accounting (ACC 101)

Note: Even though this is a lower level course, students often find this course requires a little more prep due to the nature of the subject. It is also typically a pre-req for MBA programs. It is recommended that you find out what best option is for yourself.

3 Straighterline Financial Accounting, CLEP Financial Accounting, Penn Foster Financial Accounting , or any college 3
Managerial Accounting (ACC 102)

Note: Even though this is a lower level course, students often find this course requires a little more prep due to the nature of the subject. It is also typically a pre-req for MBA programs. It is recommended that you find out what best option is for yourself.

3 Straighterline Managerial Accounting, Penn Foster Managerial Accounting, UExcel Managerial Accounting, or any college 3
Finance

Penn Foster Financial Management*

OR

DSST Principles of Finance*

*Highly recommend Penn Foster course (~$237) as it's much easier than the DSST which has a reputation for being hard. Both count for lower level credit.

3 Penn Foster Financial Management (LL)

DSST Principles of Finance (LL)

3
Management Info. Systems (MIS)
CLEP Information Systems and Computer Applications

OR

DSST Management Information Systems

(No coursework older than 10 years)

3 CLEP Information Systems & Computer Applications (LL)

DSST Management Information Systems (LL)

3
Management
Principles Of Management 3 Saylor Principles of Management (only $25)

CLEP Principles of Management

3
Organizational Behavior 3 UExcel Organizational Behavior (counts as upper level, which is better than DSST version which is lower level) 3 (UL)
Marketing
Principles of Marketing 3 Saylor Principles of Marketing (only $25)

CLEP Principles of Marketing

3
Business Capstone (Final Business Course)
Strategic Management Capstone

(Must be taken through COSC)

Notes: 1) You must have completed 30 credits in business major requirements (excludes Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Business Law, and Business Statistics) including Management, Marketing, Financial Management, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Organizational Behavior, and Management Information Systems before you can take this course.
2) The textbook is expensive ($250). It's "Strategic Management" by John Pearce latest edition. I highly recommend obtaining the international edition of the exact same textbook on eBay.com which goes for about $50. It's the same exact book, except it has a soft cover. If you can't find the latest edition, a previous much cheaper edition of this book should be fine as the information in the textbook never changes & it seems that the textbook company just updates the case studies according to Amazon reviews.
3 COSC MGT 499 Strategic Management Capstone Course 3 (UL)
12 Credits in Upper Level Business Electives
Must be Business or Business-Related courses. These business electives on the right have been found to be relatively easy, interesting, & with >94% pass rates.
Notes:
1) UExcel Human Resource Management has significant overlap with UExcel Organizational Behavior and a little with UExcel Labor Relations. This makes it easy to study for one after the other.
2) Penn Foster's Employee Benefits $237 course is suggested because many of the options remaining for the 4th UL business elective are not that great. They are generally either considered hard, lacking good prep materials, test taker data, and/or practice exams. If there is an UL business exam that you think you'll pass or want to take, by all means go for it.
DSST

Business Ethics & Society (also counts for Ethics Gen. Ed. Requirement)

3 (UL)
UExcel Human Resource Management 3 (UL)
UExcel Labor Relations 3 (UL)
Penn Foster Employee Benefits 3 (UL)

Associate's Degree (A.A. or A.S.) in General Studies

An A.A. is essentially the General Education Degree Requirements + the IDS 101 Cornerstone course + some free electives which ends up being an extra 17 - 20 credits or so for a total of 60 credits.

Free Electives CLEP Social Sciences 6 Credits
Free Electives CLEP College Mathematics 6 Credits
Free Electives FEMA or TEEX credits  5 - 8 Credits
Total 17 - 20 Credits

If price is an issue (and the student was ok with an A.S. instead of an A.A.), the student could drop the CLEPs in the Free Elective Section and add additional FEMA or TEEX credits, which are free, to fill those missing 12 credits.
