The degree plan below is a sample or template for how you can finish a BA in History at TESC by mostly testing out of required courses. A student can mix-and-match other courses or exams instead of taking exactly what this template lists, as long as all the requirements are met. For this template I chose mostly CLEP and DSST exams, but also included ALEKS for math requirements and Straighterline for the science course needed. In addition, given the necessity of having 18 Upper Level history courses for this degree, which cannot be met by CLEP/DSST exams alone, I have listed 1 Excelsior Exam (ECE) as well as 1 class taken through TESC to fulfill this requirement. If you take the DSST Introduction to Modern Middle East exam it is virtually the same as what is covered in HIS-310, or at least it was in 2010, so you could knock both out at the same time. A student can of course use courses from other regionally accredited schools instead. As of July 2012, a Liberal Arts Capstone is required to complete this degree which is listed below. Finally, I have used FEMA courses in this degree template to fulfill the Free Electives requirements but of course one can use just about any other courses for this instead.

NOTE: This template complies with TESC requirements to complete a BA in History as of July 2012. Always check with the most current TESC policies before starting!
